Spreading state by state

A growing number of states now ban intentionally added PFAS in food packaging — including fiber-based containers, plates, bowls, wraps and liners. California's AB 1200 has been in effect since January 2023.

Every product we list is required to be sourced PFAS-free, everywhere.

Where this leaves you: the same container can be compliant in one state, non-compliant in another, and accepted by neither the recycler nor the composter where you actually operate. We track it so your reorder doesn't become a research project.

Least-Plastic Option Available

In every category we carry, we list the lowest-plastic option that actually performs — the product and the box it ships in. Where a plastic-free option exists, that's what we stock. Where one doesn't yet, we name the material plainly so you know exactly what you're buying.

PFAS-Free

No intentionally added PFAS. Already banned in food packaging by a growing list of states — and the right call regardless.

US Warehouse

Domestic fulfillment for reliable restocking. Overseas manufacturers need US warehousing to qualify.

Regionally Accepted

Certified recyclable or compostable and actually accepted by the facilities that serve your area — which is not the same thing.

Performs During Service

It has to work in a real kitchen at real volume. This is why we don't carry paper straws.

Why YuGoEco Exists

Thirty years on the other side of the counter.

I've spent three decades in retail and hospitality — skincare, cosmetics, food and wine — including years in the Napa and Sonoma wine country. That's a long time watching operators get handed the same bad choice: buy something "sustainable" that fails during service, or keep buying plastic and feel bad about it.

The products got better. The sourcing didn't. Finding packaging that performs, ships reliably, and actually composts where you live is still unreasonably hard.

YuGoEco exists to close that gap — retail merchandising discipline applied to getting plastic out of foodservice supply. We started in wine country because that's the ground I know, but the sourcing problem is national, and so is the catalog.

Common Questions

What operators ask us first

Does this packaging actually get recycled or composted?

Only if your local facility accepts it — which is exactly the problem we exist to solve. Certification means a product can be recycled or broken down under the right conditions; it doesn't mean your hauler will take it. Portland isn't Phoenix. Boston isn't Boise. Some items are best routed to recycling, some to compost, and which is which changes by region. We match what we sell to what your area can actually process.

I operate in more than one state. Does that complicate things?

It does — seven states now have packaging EPR laws on separate timelines, and PFAS rules differ too. That's the main reason operators consolidate to one supplier who tracks it. We flag what applies where you operate rather than leaving you to reconcile seven rulebooks.

Is this more expensive than plastic?

Some items cost more per unit, some are close to parity. Bulk ordering and predictable reorders close most of the gap, and consolidating to one supplier usually saves more in admin time than the unit difference costs.

Will these hold up during service?

That's the first thing we screen for. Anything that fails under heat, grease, or a full drink doesn't get listed — paper straws included. Request a Discovery Kit and test it in your own service before committing.

How fast is shipping?

Every supplier we list is required to fulfill from a US warehouse. No overseas lead times on restocks.

Do you ship in plastic?

That's the standard we hold every order to: no poly mailers, no plastic void fill, no plastic tape on our end. If you ever spot an exception, let us know — we treat it as a miss, not a maybe.

Can I get my logo printed on packaging?

Yes — cups, bags, boxes and labels, with low minimums for independent operators. Custom-printed items meet the same sourcing standard as our stock catalog.
